MODERN ECOLOGICAL AND RECLAMATION CONDITION OF THE ENGINEERING SYSTEMS OF LIMAN IRRIGATION OF SEMIDESERT AREA OF SARATOV ZAVOLZHJE

This paper presents the results of a comparative evaluation of the modern ecological and reclamation condition of the largest engineering systems of Saratov Zavolzhje based on the analysis of long-term experimental data on soil and vegetation cover of limans. The main causes of degradation of liman lands were identified and the destinations to restore the environmental sustainability of the studied systems were allocated. Mapping areas of degradation of soils and plants using satellite images on the example Malouzenskaya engineering system of liman irrigation was conducted. In accordance with the data obtained only 23.0% of the total area of the system corresponds to the degradation of the «norm». With the use of GIS technology was carried the modeling of reconstruction of liman «Burdinskiy» in order to reduce the area flooded tiers. Calculations have shown that increasing the number of tiers from 5 to 15, and decrease in the average size of one tier to 64 hectares would create the conditions for the use of low irrigation rates and optimal performance coefficient of uniformity of flooding.
