ANALYSIS OF THE STRUCTURE AND DYNAMICS OF PINE PLANTATIONS IN THE ALONG THE MIDDLE DON

The object of investigation chosen highly productive (I and II site class) plantations of Scots pine (Pinus silvestris l.) mostly of artificial origin growing on the border of the forest-steppe and steppe vegetation zones in the area of the Middle Don region to the total area of 1375.5 hectares. It has been surveyed 185 allotments, defined the taxation parameters of pine stands, made the distribution of stock of plants by category of health status, the causes of the weakening of the breed. The results show a significant weakening of pine plantations, passing in the defeat of the root fungus in the drying phase. In each forest with varying degrees of damage root fungus determined the dependence of the stock plantations from the weighted average of the state of the pine plantations. This makes it possible to change the sanitary condition of plantations to predict the dynamics of its biomass, and on its basis – performs an important habitat-forming function.
